BarryGARDNERCelebrated Gloucester Photographer Barry Gardner remembered.
Barry Gardner, a highly respected Gloucester photographer, passed away on Monday 12 January at Gloucester Royal Hospital, aged 84, after suffering from pneumonia.
From 1996 to 2014, Barry photographed hundreds of weddings across Gloucester and the surrounding area, becoming a familiar and trusted presence on many couples' special days. Through his studio, Celebration Photography on London Road, he also became well known for photographing babies at three, six and twelve months old, capturing the earliest milestones of family life and creating treasured memories for generations.
Barry was known not only for his talent but for his warm humour and quick wit, joking with family and friends right up until the end. He was a kind and generous man who loved to travel and brought laughter wherever he went.
He was a devoted father to four children, a loving grandad to nine grandchildren, and a much loved brother to Wendy. He will be remembered with great affection by all who knew him and by the many families whose lives he documented through his work.
Funeral service: Monday 9 February at 1.00pm, Gloucester Crematorium.
Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Respiratory Unit, Ward 8A at Gloucester Royal Hospital, via the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, memories and support during this difficult time.
